Our parents and grandparents are a vital part of John Paul II. It is the time and talents that they share with our students and teachers that make the educational experience enriching and successful. We offer numerous opportunities to get involved with the school, take part in your child’s education, and just have fun. Listed below are just a few of the opportunities. We encourage you to get involved!
All volunteers working with children must follow the procedures outlined by the Archdiocese. Archdiocesan Policy requires all volunteers (including, but not limited to, Room Parents, chaperones, etc.) to complete the Virtus – Child Awareness Session and register for a background check through Selection.com (found under the Toolbar in the VIRTUS account). Through Selection.com, a background check will be conducted every six months.
Volunteer to help teachers with special projects, organizing weekly folders, working with the primary students in reading, writing and math. Helping with classroom parties and chaperoning field trips.
Volunteer to assist the librarian in the cataloging and circulation of books, maintaining the library, and assisting students during the library period.
We are excited to offer you a new way to sign up for volunteering at the JPII Cafeteria! If you are interested, please sign up on one of the available slots on the SignUpGenius page. Your children and grandchildren are always excited to see you in the cafeteria. You are welcome to bring in younger siblings to work with you. If you have any questions, please call the cafeteria at 513-728-3109.
There are many volunteers needed to help with the activities sponsored by the PTO. Parents volunteer to work a booth at the Fall Family Festival, help out during our annual Walk-A-Thon, bake or purchase items for the Faculty Prayer Breakfasts, and lead a session of Everybody Counts (a program to teach students about disabilities) in your child’s classroom.
Volunteers are needed to support our fundraisers, which include saving Box Tops 4 Education, Coke Rewards, and Campbell Soup labels, registering our school for the Kroger rewards, and participating in the SCRIP program.
Fun & Field Day
Many volunteers are needed to help set up, make lunch, monitor students as they travel from game to game and just have fun! Mr. Miller, our PE teacher, will meet with all volunteers to discuss the events of the day.
Crystal Clear Science
Volunteers are engaged with small groups of students as they explore a hands-on scientific concept.
Numerous other opportunities to help exists. If you have a special interest, please speak up and volunteer!
